15. ECW One Night Stand 2005
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCJHLBwptQM "You are in our house, bitch." Paul Heyman to Eric Bischoff. Highlights: Paul Heyman promo, Dudley Boys vs. Tommy Dreamer & Sandman, Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanka, Chris Benoit vs. Guerrero The first WWE produced ECW show was One Night Stand in 2005. It took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City and it was one of the hottest crowds ever. It's fair to say that the crowd helped to make this show special. In terms of matches, there weren't any classics. There were some really good ones like the Awesome/Tanaka brawl, the Benoit/Guerrero technical wrestling match (they had better ones) and Jericho vs. Storm was really solid too. The last match of the night was a true ECW style main event featuring The Dudley Boys taking on Tommy Dreamer and Sandman. It was a wild bloody brawl that represented what ECW meant to a lot of people. It wasn't all about the matches, though. They were good, but they weren't the best part. What was special about the show was the atmosphere surrounding the event. If you saw it, you know what I mean. It felt more "real" than any wrestling show ever largely because of the promos and memorable moments throughout the night. The end of the night saw a brawl with a Steve Austin led ECW group of performers that faced off with a lot of WWE heels that came from Raw and Smackdown. It was fun seeing Eric Bischoff getting his ass kicked, Paul Heyman delivering a heated promo and of course Austin hitting Bischoff with the Stone Cold Stunner. The 2005 edition of One Night Stand was unlike anything we have ever seen. That's why it's a special show that is one of the best PPVs ever.
