WWE: 20 Changes That MUST Happen On The Road From WrestleMania 30
8. Resurrect The Cruiserweight Division
High flying cruiserweight wrestling is severely missed in the modern WWE. There was nothing more refreshing than watching the likes of Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, Tajiri and other cruiserweights fly over the ring in performing some of the most death defying moves ever created. The day the cruiserweight division folded was a dark day for WWE fans. So, in 2014, as many fans grumble of a boring WWE product stagnating in the mires of sports entertainment, why not resurrect the cruiserweight division where fans can once again share in the excitement and awe that results from witnessing cruiserweight wrestling! Of course this move would require real change in the perception of the wrestling style that the WWE wishes to promote. Currently there are many wrestling move restrictions in place, which would mean that some of the restrictions might have to be lessened if the dangerous move sets of the cruiserweight division were to feature in the modern WWE. Though all hope of a cruiserweight resurrection is not lost, after all Sin Cara was recently signed by the WWE at a time where the unofficial WWE wrestling style is largely confined to the mat, in other words there still remains some level of cruiserweight interest at some level in the WWE machine. If a high ranking director or figure in the WWE could propose a return of the enthralling cruiserweight division, then dependent on a company wide 'identity change' as to the accepted form of wrestling in the WWE, fans might be reacquainted with one of the most enthralling styles of professional wrestling ever devised.
