WWE: 20 Changes That MUST Happen On The Road From WrestleMania 30

19. Introduce Veteran Talent To The PG Audience

Kurt Angle Wwe "The passing of the torch" is a phrase that is a constant reality of the wrestling industry and has long been recognised as one of its most time honoured traditions. The WWE is no exception to this unwritten rule. Historically wrestlers who have 'hit the big time' are also expected to use their main event status to 'put over' and develop mid card talent. Examples include Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels WrestleMania 12, Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin WrestleMania 14 and more recently The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. Currently there is a distinct lack of veteran talent. Apart from part timers like Triple H and Brock Lesnar, other veterans like Big Show, Kane and John Cena are not being utilised in such a way that can benefit the remaining roster. It would therefore make perfect sense that if the WWE wishes to better develop its current talent pool, it should change its current method of making its main eventers by throwing championship belts at them, and instead have its mid card work proactively with current veterans so that they earn their main event status. The WWE would also benefit by changing its attitude in relation to veteran talent that work outside of the WWE, in smaller companies like TNA. There are a significant number of wrestling veterans who would add value to the WWE product by their own merit and would no doubt gift WWE Creative with many ways to develop its current mid card roster. To have WWE wrestlers like Cesaro, Ryback and AJ Lee work with veterans like Kurt Angle, Goldberg and Mickie James would be of great benefit to the WWE as well as its fans.
