WWE 2006 PPVs From Worst To Best

6. The Great American Bash

The Good: Smackdown was on good form in 2006, churning out several high quality PPVs. The Great American Bash, typically one of the worst WWE shows of the year, was rather good that year thanks to the efforts of a motivated Smackdown roster. The opening tag match between London/Kendrick and The Pitbulls (Kid Kash and Jamie Noble) was good formula fun. London and Kendrick were one of the true highlights of the year, and their matches were usually on-point. Ditto Gregory Helms and Matt Hardy, who had a competitive Cruiserweight Title match in the midcard. Although not a particularly great match, Ken Kennedy and Batista's bout was a spectacle nonetheless, thanks to Kennedy's excessive blade job. I think he might have hit 0.8 on the Muta Scale, there. Finally, King Booker dethroned Rey Mysterio in a very good main event when Chavo Guerrero predictably turned on the masked man. The Bad: The card had to be reshuffled when Mark Henry (Batista's original opponent) went down with a torn patella, and several other members of the roster were said to have had elevated liver enzymes. Bobby Lashley, Super Crazy and The Great Khali were all taken off the show to safeguard their health. Big Show replaced Khali in the first ever Punjabi Prison match with The Undertaker. It was not very good. Lashley/Regal/Finlay was turned into a singles match, and suffered as a result. Finlay, who was supposed to play babyface, did not do so convincingly leaving the audience confused. The Rest: Not a classic show, but mostly entertaining form start to finish. Watch this one on the Network if you get a chance to!
