The Good: Every match is a title match, Maggle! That was the selling point of Vengeance: Night of Champions, a show which turned out be very important for (unfortunate) historical reasons. Best match of the night was the main event five-way (don't see many of those around) WWE Title match between John Cena, King Booker, Bobby Lashley, Randy Orton and Mick Foley, of all people. Such an odd group of people for one match, but it worked and was a thoroughly entertaining match. Also great was Batista and Edge's WHC match. These two had really good chemistry with each other and Edge was the master of getting the most out of big Dave and making him look as powerful as possible. Seriously, their 2007 series is tremendously underrated. Also decent were the opening Tag Title match between The Hardys and Cade & Murdoch and the solid-but-unspectacular Cruiserweight Title match between Jimmy Wang Yang and Chavo Guerrero. The Bad: Retired legends are fine for nostalgia appearances every now and again but challenging for titles on PPV? Nope. Nobody wants that. Deuce and Domino's match with Jimmy Snuka and Sgt. Slaughter was of the bowling shoe variety. Ric Flair and MVP didn't mesh at all in their US Title match, either. Santino Marella Vs. Umaga and Melina Vs. Candice Michelle were nothing matches, and Johnny Nitro's ECW Title victory over CM Punk fell flat. It took these guys a few months to develop some sort of chemistry. The Rest: The show will unfairly be remembered as the one that Chris Benoit no-showed on the weekend that he killed his wife, son and then himself. It's not a terrible show (two good matches at the top of the card) but it's nothing special, either.
