WWE 2007 PPVs From Worst To Best

14. Unforgiven

The Good: Not a great show by any means, Unforgiven 2007 still nonetheless provided some decent matches and moments. Top of them all, rather surprisingly, was Candice Michelle's Women's Title defence against the underrated Beth Phoenix. Michelle, never the best wrestler in the world, looked pretty damn decent in there with Phoenix and shocked just about everyone with her performance. Credit to her. The World Tag Team Title match between Cade & Murdoch and London & Kendrick, two teams creative could have cared less about, looked like filler on paper but turned out to be a really decent watch. All four men worked hard and got the crowd into it towards the end. When do you ever see Triple H in the third match of the show? That's where he was placed here, in a match where his opponent, Carlito, could not be disqualified. It was an enjoyable contest. And World Heavyweight Champion Great Khali (ugh) lost his title to Batista in a well-worked triple threat match also involving Rey Mysterio. The Bad: A month after their SummerSlam scorcher, John Cena and Randy Orton had a humdrum WWE Title match. The crowd heat was certainly there but the action was weak and the DQ finish weaker. CM Punk and Elijah Burke (Punk's least favourite opponent) never had great chemistry together. Don't watch their opener here. The Undertaker's big return match after several months out with an injury, was boring, boring, boring. Mark Henry was just not the man to be headling PPVs with the Deadman, at least not in 2007. The Rest: Remember what I was saying about WWE being high on Kenny Dykstra? Yeah, he quickly lost to Kane in the dark match here. He didn't make a PPV appearance following the Royal Rumble, now that I think about it.
