In terms of results that shocked the WWE Universe, Goldberg defeating Brock Lesnar in 90 seconds at Survivor Series was by far the most surprising of 2016. Heading into the match, very few people gave Goldberg a chance. The thought of WWE having the 49 year-old go 2-0 up on Lesnar seemed borderline impossible. In the minds of the WWE Universe, Goldberg being the one to defeat the one in 21-1 seemed almost nonsensical. But then it happened. Very, very quickly.
Goldberg picking up a Slammy award weeks before the Royal Rumble is a clever way for WWE to use one of his appearances. Not only will it keep Goldberg's victory over "The Beast Incarnate" in the forefront of viewer's minds, it'll give him a reason to be on Raw, as opposed to just appearing whenever he can be bothered. Whether you liked it or not, you can't deny how shocking Goldberg's win at Survivor Series was.
