WWE 2K16: 10 Reasons General Manager Mode Should Return
4. Match Ratings Are Provided
Everyone wants feedback on their work. If you don't know how well (or how poorly) you did or what you need to work on, you can never improve. In order to adapt, pro wrestling is constantly looking to its fan base and their reaction to what they put out as well as the ratings. If something doesn't reflect well in the ratings, there's a good chance it'll be scrapped or at the very least changed the next week.
As previously noted, WWE Universe is solely for the player's personal enjoyment. As long as they like what they're producing, that's all that matters, but that isn't the way it should be nor is it the way things work in the real world with wrestling. General Manager Mode reflects that by providing players with match ratings via a star system with one being the worst and five being the best.
Granted, the rating a match receives is mostly subjective and there isn't any clear-cut criteria for what earns matches more stars, but components such as whether it involves a feud, a hometown hero, and/or a gimmick match are taken into consideration. The more five star matches you have, the likelier it is your show will garner more viewers than that your competitor.
