WWE owns so much of wrestling history that, if 2K Sports was so inclined, they could create a game that really looks at the last several decades of the sport. If they did that, there'd be no better star for the cover than Ric Flair.

Flair debuted in 1972 and continued to wrestle for more than three decades, meaning that he's competed through many eras in the sport. If WWE 2K18 wants to make a career mode featuring a number of WWE Hall of Famers, doing it through a Flair lens could easily work - he was in the AWA and the NWA in the '70s, he was a pioneer of the Starrcade era, he was a vital part of the Monday Night Wars, and he went on to a long WWE career in the 2000s. Oh, and there was the whole 1992 Royal Rumble.

Putting Flair on the cover of the game would be a promise of a specific kind of gaming experience, but it's sure to resonate with longtime fans.
