WWE 2K26: 9 Things You Need To Know
2. AI Opponents Will Play More Tactically
WWE video games are annually hailed as being as close to the real thing as possible, but that isn't always possible if you're playing against the computer. Artificial intelligence isn't yet advanced enough to know that Randy Orton has never won a match with his draping DDT or that Shawn Michaels didn't always faint after hitting Sweet Chin Music.
This will be streamlined in WWE 2K26 with the introduction of a new AI moveset detection system. Derek Donahue explained the streamlined system during a recent media scrum (h/t GameDaily):
"Take John Cena, for example. When he goes for a Five Knuckle Shuffle, he's always, always, always hitting the Attitude Adjustment afterwards, right? He almost never goes for a pin off the Five Knuckle Shuffle. And so, he has an AI sequence built into his moveset that tells when the AI's controlling John Cena, 'Hey, when you're hitting [the] Five Knuckle Shuffle, do the Attitude Adjustment afterwards'. Now take that concept and have up to 10 sequences that can be up to 10 moves long that are fully customisable for players inside."
This sounds like players can customise the AI-generated movesets, which would be fine, but it defeats the entire purpose of the implementation.
