WWE: 3 Recent Examples That May Prove Me Wrong About Triple H

2. Michael Cole, Still The Voice.

My God, This guy was the only thing that kept the marathon from becoming a wrestling fans wet dream. The incompetence this man shows is truly mindboggling and if ANYONE, let alone Trips can't see that he brings down the product in its ENTIRETY just proves that they refuse to let the revolution take hold. Now I have already pointed out in a previous article (which you can read by clicking here) not only how much I despise this guy but how in my opinion he is the worst play by play commentator in the history of all sports, not just sports entertainment. But for this articles sake I have decided to add the main issue I have with him as of late. You see, when you are part of an evil/good play by play dynamic everything you say has to not only be in support of the heroes actions but give examples on why he is right on the basis of morality. It is pretty basic rule in commentary that has been utilized for decades now, not only in the WWE but in various feds through history. But when Michael Cole speaks in support of the righteous he constantly makes mistakes not only in his references but his sentence structure that allows JBL (the evil) to shoot down and discredit everything he says using nothing but COMMON SENSE. Which in turn does nothing to fortify the image of the "good guy who can do no wrong." In actual fact, his commentary makes the good guys out to be total douchebags, the exact opposite of what his job is meant to be. And it is never just a one off in a single show. THIS HAPPENS EVERY MATCH. He has absolutely no idea. Now I have asked this before many times but I will ask again and will keep asking until this guy gets his walking papers. How does this man keep his job showing incompetence like that on a daily basis? If you want to see how this dynamic is meant to work, go watch some clips of Jesse Ventura and Gorilla Monsoon back in the day or JR and the King (or even JR/Heyman) circa 1996-2000. THAT is how you successfully manage the good/evil dynamic. What you don't do is make everything the good guy does come off as the wrong thing. And let's not forget to mention the simple fact that after working within the wrestling industry for nearly 2 decades he still can't distinguish between a swinging neckbreaker, a spinning neckbreaker and a cutter. As long as this guy is promoted as the "voice" of the WWE, the company will stay in the doldrums. And I gauran_damn_tee anyone that if he was immediately removed from RAW and replaced with someone that actually knows his job, the ratings would go up a full .5. Trips, the problem that is Cole is right in front of you and you seemingly refuse to see it. Oh, and by the way Michael, a bird's eye view is EXACTLY what Paul Heyman had at the Hell in a Cell. Forehead slap for that one.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
