WWE: 30 Superstars To Create Greatest Royal Rumble of All Time

14. Diesel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvyymEuqybE The 1996 runner-up has only been in 3 Rumbles, yet has amassed 12 eliminations, including 7 straight in 1994 - a record he co-holds with five other men. Diesel was so dominate in 1994 in fact, it took five people just to get him out, including buddy Shawn Michaels. It would be 15 years before Kevin Nash would appear as Diesel in the WWE again - making his shock re-introduction during the 40-man Royal Rumble of 2011. In WCW, Kevin Nash won the three ring, 60-man battle royal at the final World War 3 PPV to gain a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (the infamous showdown with Goldberg's streak), showing he can certainly get the job done.

13. Big John Studd

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FWCp9Ag0yE In the first 30 man Rumble, and first on pay per view, Big John Studd won in what was deemed as a sort of 'retirement present' after having initial retired 2 years earlier. As a heel throughout most of his career, Studd turned on his manager Bobby Heenan when he returned to the company and enjoyed his final successful flurry as a face. Studd entered at the famed #27 spot, home of 4 winners (the others being Hart, Yokozuna and Austin, not bad company) - more than any other number.

12. John Cena

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juy5Kg1Fpd4 With his win this year, John Cena has become the first man to win multiple Royal Rumbles without them being achieved in consecutive years. It was also the biggest gap between successes at 5 years; two more than Austin's winless run between 1998 and 2001. Cena's now legendary shocking 2008 return is considering one of the best Rumble highlights of all time; even the biggest Cena critic and hater cannot deny getting goosebumps when the Madison Square Garden crowd erupted at the sound of 'My Time is Now'.

11. Big Show

big show del rio Probably the unluckiest of our list, the 7 foot 440+ lb behemoth Big Show has dominated Rumbles but never won - finishing second in both 2000 and 2004. Always a likely target due to his size, Big Show has managed to fend off double teams and triple teams, and even used his concealed agility to 'skin the cat' when facing the prospect of losing in 2009! For Big Show it's a case of always the bridesmaid and never the bride - but both scenarios are a disturbing image.

10. Bret Hart

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSdKk_YML3k One half of the only co-winners in history with Lex Luger, Bret Hart gained redemption at WrestleMania X against Yokozuna, to whom he lost the WWE Championship at WrestleMania IX - the previous year's Rumble winner. It can be argued Bret won his fifth and final Rumble in 1997, having thrown Steve Austin over the top only for the referees to not see it - the only time an 'eliminated' superstar has gone on to win the contest. Bret also has the distinction of being the first man to ever enter the Royal Rumble match, lasting 25 minutes (longer than anyone else) and was the first man to draw #1 twice.

9. Triple H

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-iewwo-1a4 In one of the more predictable outcomes, Triple H won the Royal Rumble in 2002 a few weeks after returning from a quad injury that had kept him out of action for 8 months. It wasn't his only achievement either: in 1996 he survived longer than anyone else as Hunter Hearst Helmsley back in his Blueblood days. Triple H would be the iron man again in 2009, as he outlasted Randy Orton's Legacy cohorts before falling pray to the Viper himself in one of his two consecutive years as runner-up. Despite being known more for his 13 world title reigns, Triple H has amassed a longer cumulative time in the Rumble than anybody else in history at nearly 4 hours.

8. Lex Luger

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSdKk_YML3k Lex Luger has the unfortunate distinction of being the sole Royal Rumble winner who has never won a WWE world championship. As a joint winner (the only time this has and probably will ever happen after the attempted rehash in 2005) with Bret Hart, Luger failed in his quest to become champion when he lost to Yokozuna at WrestleMania X. Hart, on the other hand, succeeded in the main event to avenge his defeat the previous WrestleMania. It's not all doom and gloom for Lex though as a multiple time WCW Champion.
