3. The Hardy Boyz

Everyone knew The Hardy Boyz would be back in WWE eventually. It was always a matter of when, not if.

That was pretty apparent when Jeff Hardy said during his 2009 farewell speech, "This is not goodbye forever, this is only goodbye for now." They were locked under contract to TNA for so long that it made it virtually impossible for them to return, but an interesting set of circumstances that saw their former employer let them walk away allowed the "broken" brothers to journey back to the place they call home just in time for WrestleMania 33

In fact, a potential comeback to WWE for Matt and Jeff was in question for weeks given they randomly popped up in Ring of Honor and were the reigning ROH World Tag Team champions the weekend of WrestleMania. Sure enough, they dropped the straps the night before 'The Show of Shows' and made their triumphant return the very next night to a thunderous ovation in the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Aside from how they haven't been able to use their "broken" characters yet, it has been strong year for the the Hardyz, given they held tag titles in WWE, TNA and ROH all in the matter of a month.
