WWE: 4 Missed Clues That The Undertaker's Streak Was Ending

2. The Significance Of 'The One'

Another missed clue is the fact that at WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker's opponent was Brock Lesnar. Of course Brock Lesnar is now being promoted as 'the one' because of the fact that he ended the streak, but perhaps fans should have realised the significance of Lesnar as The Undertaker's WrestleMania opponent and the subsequent threat he in particular posed to the streak. Why? Well rumours have abounded for many years that The Undertaker himself wanted his winning streak to be broken by Brock Lesnar. The famous faceoff between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar at a UFC event is speculated to have been a staged occurrence teasing an anticipated Undertaker/Lesnar WrestleMania match as far back as 2010. The match eventually happened four years after the UFC incident, but fans perhaps failed to remember that particular stare down and indeed the rumours at the time that Brock Lesnar was indeed 'the one', the chosen 'one' of The Undertaker to do the impossible and end his streak. Similarly in the weeks prior to WrestleMania 30, Brock Lesnar was promoted as 'The Conqueror.' Night after night Paul Heyman repeated the Lesnar mantra of 'Eat, Sleep, Conquor, Repeat' which in hindsight might have been a subtle clue, not only was Lesnar 'the one' but he was consistently billed as 'The Conqueror.' In order to be a conqueror Lesnar needed something to conquer and in hindsight perhaps the WWE Universe was blind to the fact that the streak at WrestleMania 30 was Lesnar's to conquer. After all Paul Heyman stated that Lesnar would indeed conquer the streak and that this was "not a prediction but a spoiler!"
