WWE: 4 Missed Clues That The Undertaker's Streak Was Ending

3. The Red Herring Of Promotion

There are large swathes of the WWE Universe that have criticised the poor promotion of The Undertaker/Lesnar WrestleMania 30 match before and after the match concluded. Many have lamented the fact that because the initial match proved to be the final match of The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, the poor promotion surrounding the match was, in their opinion, a grave travesty on the part of the WWE. Yet maybe the poor promotion was a red herring, perhaps the promotion was deliberately low key as a predetermined ploy to have fans sleep walk into WrestleMania 30 completely confident that The Undertaker would defeat Brock Lesnar, and that when the reverse eventually transpired, maximum shock was delivered throughout the WWE Universe, and the ultimate WrestleMania moment was achieved. Regardless of opinions, it is self-evident that the promotion itself was indeed a low key affair. Unlike previous years, in every confrontation between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar until the homecoming RAW, The Undertaker had the upper hand over Brock Lesnar. As a result the WWE signalled to its fans via its promotion that the streak was safe, leading many to conclude that Brock Lesnar posed little threat to the survival of the streak. In acknowledging this it certainly seems as if the way in which the match was promoted was a deliberate red herring attempt to lure the WWE audience into a false sense of confidence that the streak would live on towards WrestleMania 31.
