2. An I Quit Match Should Act As The Culmination Of A Feud
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4VH-Rmzkao There are some match types that need heat and a build up to make the crowd want to invest in it. A singles match can be thrown with any two competitors in the blink of an eye on a normal show- that's why it often is with little or no heat. This doesn't mean that a normal match is worse- it just means that they can be used in more situations. Some stipulations ideally require a real nasty feud. Most of the best Hell in a Cell matches have come at the end of a long drawn out battle between two combatants which culminated in a brutal match- whether it be the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels in the first Hell in a Cell all those years ago or Triple H and Cactus Jack. The mediocre Hell in a Cell matches on the other hand, are often ones that seem to be thrown together for little or no purpose (the Hell in a Cell PPV has done little to make this better ). Suffice to say for I Quit matches to work the same thing needs to apply- the crowd need to believe that the two men will brutalise each other until one simply gives up. That way, the feud can end simply because one superstar has outlasted the other in a brutal test of wills.
