WWE: 5 Biggest Superstars Who Never Become World Champion

So is there a danger of any current WWE Superstars becoming 'Nearly Men' and joining the conversation of greatest non-Champions when it is discussed in the future? Recent years have seen current Midcarders such as The Miz and Jack Swagger each hold one of WWE's Heavyweight Championships, which is something that did not happen when the former Superstars listed were active in the ring. It seems in today's Pro Wrestling industry, if you get close, you get your chance, even if it does ultimately result in a Wrestler heading back down the card in the long run. The same can be seen in TNA, with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe both being former Champions in that company that have lately been firmly placed in the Midcard tier. However, with CM Punk currently in the middle of the longest reign of the WWE Championship in 4 years, could WWE be shifting back to a format in which not so many Superstars get the opportunity for Heavyweight Gold? The current number of PPV events per year accompanied with the amount of WWE Television makes it hard for the company to keep viewers interested in one man at the top. When the former Superstars detailed were competing, there was not nearly as much Professional Wrestling available on a weekly basis. This made long, dominating Championship reigns an easier thing to book, and subsequently left a lot of these legendary figures without a WWF Championship to their name. Until viewers are once again conditioned to the Championship being something only few can achieve, these memorable names are likely to still be the ones that come up as the 'Nearly Men' for a few more years to come.
