WWE: 5 Rarely Seen Gimmick Matches That Should Return In 2014
4. Iron Man Match
The Iron Man match is a match that the WWE Seldom uses these days. The last Iron Man match was five years ago and featured John Cena and Randy Orton, where a record tying 11 falls were counted. Iron Man matches are understandably harder to put on these days, given their length. Having a 1-hour match likely wouldnt peak the interest of todays young WWE fan, and given the sheer number of superstars on the roster, it would keep even more wrestlers off TV or a special event than usual. With that said, its been long enough and the WWE should put on an Iron Man match. I wouldnt expect them to do so on a Special Event as you want to get as many guys as possible on that show, but with three hours of Raw a week, Im sure one hour for one match isnt that much of a sacrifice. They could even do the match on a special edition of Main Event or do it on Smackdown to try to draw more viewers to the show. The point is they have several hours of television a week, and finding one hour to put on the first Iron Man match in 5 years isnt a lot to ask. Ideally Id like to see Daniel Bryan in this match, as an hour-long epic featuring him and an at least solid opponent would be a great show. Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H would make for a good Iron Man, maybe Daniel Bryan vs. Cena or Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar (if he were up to it). Other possibilities for a great Iron Man match would be the members of The Shield. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins battled in the long forgotten FCW over the FCW 15 Medal, which was contested in 15 minute Iron Man matches. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose battled three times over this medal, the first time to a 15 minute draw, the second time to a 20 minute draw, and a third time Seth finally defeated Dean in a 30 minute Iron Man match. All the matches were very good and at certain moments, great. Lets see these guys go the full hour now on Raw or Main Event or Smackdown once the Shield disbands, now that they have even more experience than they did back then. Heck, throw Roman Reigns in and make it a triple threat Iron Man match.
