WWE: 5 Reasons Why Wrestling Will Never Be Great Again

3. Rated PG

Befunky Wwe Pg This might be wrestling's biggest achilles heel. At least the WWE's. Unfortunately, it's NOT changing anytime soon. The sex, violence and drama are no longer apart of wrestling's culture. It's in their DNA but they refuse to acknowledge it anymore. For instance, the WWE makes millions of dollars a year in advertisements BECAUSE of their PG rating. If this was 10 years ago, that simply wouldn't happen. The fact is, advertisers invest in the WWE knowing they reach a broader and younger demographic with their PG rating. What does that mean for us? It means we're s**t out of luck. Now more than ever, the WWE is relying on that year revenue stream in order to continue to feed the machine. If advertisers were willing to pay more for a G rating, don't think the WWE wouldn't oblige them. The angles of sex, drugs and rock and roll are over. One of the many reasons why wrestling is getting harder and harder to watch.
