WWE: 5 Superstars Whose Last Match Was At WrestleMania
4. Ric Flair
Ric Flair's WWE in-ring career came to an emotional end at the hands of Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV. I have, however, penalised Flair since he went on to wrestle many times in TNA and Japan after leaving the WWE, else he would have been higher up in the list given the magnitude of his WrestleMania swansong. The stipulation going into the "Career Threatening" match was that Flair would have to retire if he lost - a stipulation Flair faced in every match months prior to this due to Vince McMahon. Flair was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before, and in real life chose Shawn Michaels as his last opponent. Great choice since Michaels is the best in-ring performer WrestleMania has seen. It was a great match which ended with the memorable moment where Michaels uttered the words "I'm sorry, I love you" before hitting Flair with Sweet Chin Music and gaining the win by pinfall. The pair embraced and Flair was given a standing ovation. Further emotional scenes followed on Monday Night Raw the following night when the whole locker room and Flair's family came out to pay tribute to the Nature Boy's career, in which he won 16 world titles. Flair's other most memorable matches came in losses to Randy Savage and The Undertaker, at WrestleMania VIII and X8 respectively.
