WWE: 5 Ways To Get Alexander Rusev Over In 2014

4. A Dominant Performance At Extreme Rules

Extremerules What better time to establish a new dangerous monster than at the PPV where all rules go out of the window?? By this time, Rusev has been beaten in his challenge by Ziggler, or another fan favourite, which sets up a revenge feud at Extreme Rules. Obviously, Rusev has to win this one, but the right story has to be told. He can't just take 50 chair shots and no-sell them all, it wouldn't establish his character as believable. We're supposed to be selling the guys toughness, but he cant be a cartoon character. So the match should open with Rusev being too angry to concentrate, which leads him to make mistakes which the plucky Ziggler can capitalise on early, using the lack of rules to his advantage. The match should be fast paced at first, but gradually The Show-Off gets cocky and plays to the crowd too much, giving the Brute time to recuperate and get in one good strike which changes the whole game. From then on, he would get vicious and methodical, taking time to consider every move he makes and deliver with maximum force. This is where Dolph is really a good choice, because no one can sell like The Show-Off. He'd make the occasional counter and attempt to rally the crowd behind him, but his offence would be shut down every time. After a final little flurry of fast paced back-and-forth, Rusev would finish him, pin him and leave him lying prone in the ring while walking away, honour satisfied.
