WWE: 5 Ways To Get Alexander Rusev Over In 2014

3. The Fight Technician

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WMe1qbCxkk Rusev's striking style is reminiscent of Mauy Thai and Sumo, but his main finisher at the moment is old school pro-wrestling; the Camel Clutch, or as he calls it, The Accolade. As previously referenced, Tazz was the dominant one in the days of the original ECW, not for being the huge giant that WWE loves, but as the fight technician. He used tons of suplexes, but he also incorporated some mixed martial arts and his finisher, which was a modified judo choke known as the Katahajime. The fight technician monster angle still works now in TNA with Samoa Joe, who is closer to Rusev's size than Brock Lesnars, but every time you go to a TNA show, you will always hear chants of "Joe Is Gonna Kill You!" This angle has never really been employed by WWE, who definitely prefer the big guys, but in this new Wellness Policy, Lack-Of-Giants age, I think its time they threw their weight behind it. Play up Rusev's in-ring technicality the same way they played up Kurt Angles, and always back it up with his strength and brutality. Lend a pinch of MMA legitimacy to the presentation, and the effect it would have would be amazing

He's hung out with Robert Plant, he was at Nelson Mandela's birthday and he's swapped stories with prostitutes and crack addicts. He once performed at a Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras by accident. These days, he passes the time by writing about music, wrestling, games and other forms of nerdery. And he rarely drinks the blood of the innocent.
