WWE: 5 WCW Match Types That Should Return

2. War Games

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIeH4iFHUfU While many of WCW'S gimmick based matches were over the top, poorly executed jokes one match stands out in the hearts and memories of most wrestling fans. Perhaps that's because War Games wasn't truly a WCW original, but was created by the great Dusty Rhodes back in his NWA (National Wrestling Alliance, not the rap group) days. War Games became a WCW adopted the Match Beyond in 1991 and it became a staple of their Fall Brawl PPV until 1998. The match saw two teams between four to five men entering into a large rectangle cage that encompassed two rings side by side. Members of the team would enter one at a time every five to two minutes. Once all the men were in all hell broke loose. Participants were eliminated only after they submitted, surrendered or were knocked unconscious. Giving the match a violent and brutal feel. War Games would be a great addition to an event such as Survivor Series as an added stipulation to WWE'S classic Survivor Series elimination match. Drop the double rings and keep the rest, including the oversized cage. The match wouldn't only be an exciting addition to one of the company's big four PPVs, but a nice touch of nostalgia for the die-hard wrestling fans.
