WWE: 5 Worst World Champions During The Brand Extension

3. The Miz

The Miz 2010 Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, The Rock,...The Miz. Those superstars listed have main evented a WrestleMania and left with the WWE Championship. Who stands out from that list? Yes, The Miz; most of the others are either in the Hall of Fame or one day will be. That's my main gripe with The Miz having been the WWE Champion. He hadn't done enough to earn that accolade, such was the nature of his run that his victory over John Cena at WrestleMania XXVII was more of angle to set up Cena vs. The Rock the following year, that putting over The Miz. To his credit, prior to winning the WWE Championship, The Miz was booked well and was pretty over during his long run as the United States champion, when he won the Money in the Bank briefcase and during the time leading up to cashing it in. And when he was champion, he carried himself well in terms of attending a whole host of media appearances and such. Like many superstars who have had failed runs as world champions, he's now dropped down to the mid-card, has been in contending for and held the Intercontinental championship, as well as appearing on many pay-per-view pre-shows, such as last years WrestleMania.
