It's safe to say that Roman Reigns is going to be a babyface in the very near future and he'll likely be a main eventer by this point next year. It's hard to know exactly when he might become a top guy, but he's a potential Money in the Bank winner this summer as well as a potential Royal Rumble winner next year. He's going places, so they're going to need opponents. A Batista/Reigns rivalry makes a lot of sense because they're two guys with similar body types and styles in the ring. The obvious difference is that Reigns is nearly 20 years younger than Batista, so he's much more athletic than him. That's something that could factor in the rivalry. Batista's the veteran heel trying to prevent the young babyface from breaking through. Another thing they can build a feud around is the use of the Spear since Batista has that move in his arsenal although Reigns does a much better job with it. They've also been known to use the Powerbomb with Batista using the sitout Powerbomb aka the Batista Bomb as his finishing move. Reigns has used the Powerbomb when The Shield has delivers the three man version of that move. If they feuded, Reigns would likely go over and become a bigger star for it. That's why Batista has value. He may not be as good as he was 6 or 7 years ago, but because of his name it means a lot if a guy lie Reigns beats him in a feud. It's all about the big picture.
