Melina was not well liked by the WWE locker room. She had a real life feud with Candice Michelle and had various spats with other competitors. Her long-term boyfriend John Morrison, however, was at one point seen as a future main eventer. An easygoing personality who was eager to learn - what was holding him back was his inability to separate himself from the antics of his girlfriend... and admittedly, terrible mic skills. The backstage environment at WWE is a bit like a prison. A testosterone fueled order of respect is in place. Every time you show up to an event you must shake hands with everyone else - to not do so means you have serious beef. You screw up in any way and a backstage enforcer like Bob Holly will beat you back into place. And more than anything, if you want to get ahead - establish dominance. Well, Morrison failed to do that when Melina reportedly began sleeping with Batista. It is heavily rumoured that the higher ups were less than impressed that Morrison didn't confront the 10 feet wide 'roid freak and demand satisfaction - and kind of killed his push. Morrison stood by his woman, right through to when she was finally released. Directly afterwards he even allowed her to accompany him to events. A real faux pas... The duo are no longer together and although Morrison has left the WWE, if ever he were to return, Melina-free, we're banking he'd be given a more significant role. Source: Cage Side Seats
