3. Chris Jericho, 2000

Not only was Chris Jericho a seasoned wrestler when he arrived to the WWE (having wrestled in numerous countries throughout the world), he was also a charismatic talker who could cut a dead serious promo, or an absolutely hilarious one. He instantly became one of the WWE's most popular acts, and was given the IC title in December of 1999. Yet, many people feel the WWE could have done even more with Jericho. He was receiving some of the loudest pops on WWE television, and was having some of the best matches. When he temporarily "won" the title in April of 2000 (but had the decision reversed in the same evening), the ovation from the Pennsylvania crowd was one of the loudest in pro wrestling history. People might argue against the notion that Jericho should have been pushed more during this time, citing the fact that the feud between The Rock and Triple H was the drop draw. In response, one only needs to look at the amount of times those two faced each other in 2000 to see that adding Y2J to the mix would have only freshened things up. Between Wrestlemania 2000 and Summerslam 2000, The Rock and Triple H (in one type of match or another) faced off FIVE times in WWE pay per view main events. Jericho was extremely over, and could have carried the workload required of a main eventer, but the WWE did not pull the trigger at the right time.
