4. Bobby Heenan And Gorilla Monsoon Were Incredible On Commentary

Heenan was also one of the best managers ever, which showed how versatile he was. Gorilla Monsoon was the play by play guy that worked with Heenan and Jesse Ventura for the majority of their careers. For the 1992 Rumble, Heenan was firmly in the corner of Ric Flair. He was known as an advisor to Flair and whenever he did commentary of Flair's matches he made it no secret that he was going to support his friend no matter what anybody else thought. When Flair entered at #3 with only Davey Boy Smith in the ring, Heenan lost his mind. "No! Dammit!" Monsoon told Heenan that he could kiss him goodbye. Then Heenan went silent. He was angry. When Monsoon told him that nobody had won the Rumble after drawing one of the first five spots Heenan told him to shut up. It was like they had a legit hate for each other except in reality they were just doing a great job of portraying their characters. Throughout the match, when everybody would go after Flair, we would hear Heenan complaining about how it wasn't fair to Flair. "That's not fair to Flair" is what he'd repeat over and over. The fans hated Heenan for it, but it also an example of how great he was at doing his job. After Flair's win, Heenan said this: "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! I told you Monsoon! I told you Monsoon!" He must have said "yes" about 15 times. "He did it. He did it. I knew he'd do it!" A lot of people remember the greatness of Heenan in this match as they should, but Monsoon did his part too. His counters to Heenan were excellent. Their chemistry is unmatched in the history of wrestling.
