1. He's The Clear Legacy Wrestler Of Andre The Giant

Many have forgotten this, but the Big Show's original ring name was The Giant and was billed as Andre's son even though they bare no relation. It's a pretty easy comparison to make really since Big Show has acromegaly as Andre did (though the Big Show had it surgically corrected, Andre continued to grow until the day he died), there are plenty of similarities physically. They are both the biggest and most powerful guys around. The use their size to their advantage. Additionally, neither allows their size to be a hinderance and where they may fall to the wayside as a side attraction or a jobbing joke (as some of the other big men in the last have), Andre and Big Show define size rather than size defining them. Sure, dropping obvious monickers like "Big" and "Giant" paint an automatic picture of their gimmick...but the gimmick is pretty obvious anyway. Besides, size isn't really a gimmick and neither is popularity, success or talent. All qualities the two men share as well. Lastly, it is pretty safe to assume that Big Show might now have had the opportunity to be taken seriously and achieve all the success he has without Andre there to trail blaze the path before him. Additionally, while still unique, the success the Big Show has had over the years proves the Andre was not an anomaly. Big men have a place in the top card of professional wrestling, and they can be far more than enforcers and sideshows. Awarding The Big Show the trophy and the match makes sense as no other Super Heavyweight today has a presence or impact that approaches Andre's the way Big Show's does.
