WWE: 6 Simple Ways To Make Dolph Ziggler A Main Eventer
5. Put Him In The Ring With Other Main Eventers
Remember that unintentionally-hilarious Ascension Ceremony before the big Cena/Orton unification match? Aside from it being the first instance of a crowd really hijacking a show (with their Daniel Bryan chants), it also showcased John Cena's brilliance. Knowing he'd be booed at least a little, he made a point of shaking Bryan's hand and referring to him in his promo. It's all about credibility-by-association. Likewise, Dolph Ziggler can be made to look like a major player again, if given the opportunity to play in the big leagues. The best example came as recently as last week's Main Event program, where Dolph challenged Big E for the Intercontinental Championship. While it's not the most coveted title, it's a step up from the burial grounds. And here's the important part: Dolph was made to look like he could win. It was a close match and he shone throughout. He created a buzz. And baby steps are fine. They're believable. Let him bump for Big E, call it a comeback, he's thirsty for more. He'd be great as a bad guy against Daniel Bryan; he'd be great as a good guy against Kane. Orton and Batista might have some free time after Mania. I don't want to see Dolph Ziggler having another Memphis Street Fight for a long time, though it had a satisfying finish (T-Shirt this!). If you put him in the ring with guys at the top, people will see that he belongs there.
