WWE: 6 Ways CM Punk's Resignation Could Affect Daniel Bryan

2. Daniel Bryan Will Be Instrumental In Finding Another Indy Darling

Let's assume that CM Punk is done with the WWE- at least for two or three years. There is going to be a lot of regrets and head scratching but at some stage one question will be raised. "Who's going to take his spot?" If this happened two years ago, the answer would have been Daniel Bryan but the fact is that Bryan has a spot that he's made all of his own. He doesn't need to try and ape CM Punk's gimmick of being the ultimate anti-authoritarian face. Instead Bryan is better as the plucky underdog whose tenacity, intensity and brilliance in the ring sees him as the fan favourite who's being embraced by almost everyone. However, the WWE realise the potency of having someone who can represent the 18-35 anti-authoritarian male demographic that wrestlers like Cena find it so hard to appeal to. Whoever this person is, the WWE will be looking for the best wrestlers on the roster to tear the house down with this up and comer to legitimise him as a main event figure in the years to come. And there are no better wrestlers on the roster at the moment than Daniel Bryan. Expect a lot of matches for Bryan this year against the likes of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Antonio Cesaro and more for the WWE to gauge how over these superstars are and which ones could be made from a internet loved wrestler to one that could be embraced by the mainstream.
