7. Predictable Return
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5YAX7PUgeU Everybody knows that the best returns are those that come out of nowhere. The Rocks return in 2011 had an extremely loud crowd reaction, and part of that was the fact that no one saw it coming. Once again, John Cenas return at the 2008 Royal Rumble was unpredictable, as everyone figured he still had to take a few months off to recover from his torn pectoral muscle. In Sheamus case, well, everyone could tell he was going to be back at the Rumble in October. The wow factor is lost when a return is predictable. When Sheamus ran down the ramp at the Rumble, everyones predictions should have been put to question, because theoretically, people shouldnt be considering Sheamus as a possible winner. But when he walked out, people didnt care, because they had already considered Sheamus returning and winning, and they had already ignored the possibility. Sure, a predictable return can still end up being a good one if the guy is booked well afterwards, like Edges in the 2010 Rumble (when he actually won the match and challenged the World Champion at WrestleMania), which wasnt Sheamus case. The point is that unpredictability always adds to returns, and Sheamus subpar return couldve used some, it just wasnt to be.
