1. 156 Hours Of Monday Night Raw
With 52 Mondays in 2013 and Raw now being three hours in length, the calculator tells us that there were 156 hours of WWE's flagship broadcast, more than the 104 hours there would have been if Raw was still running at two hours. With the increased length of Monday Night Raw comes some good, and some bad. The bad is that the paying customers of pay per view may feel slighted, correctly pointing out that they pay hard-earned money to watch three hour wrestling broadcasts once a month, and that now Monday Night Raw gives viewers a three hour wrestling program for free. Another negative comes in the form of goofy sketches, frequent recaps, and other forms of "entertainment" that are often necessary in order to make sure time is filled. The shift to three hours is not all bad, however, and as I alluded to in a previous article, the increased Raw length can often mean in an increase in match time. The good that this can bring was highlighted at the beginning of 2013, when John Cena and CM Punk engaged in an absolute classic match on the February 25th edition of Raw, and at the end of the year, when Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton waged war on the December 16th Raw. Here's hoping that 2014 treats fans to many more classic Raw matches in 2014. They definitely have the superstars, and the time, to pull it off.
