WWE: 7 Recent Tag Team Breakups That Didn't Help Anyone

7. Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-zA8gUHsOg Did you know that Slater & Gabriel were three time tag team champions? It didn't happen during a time when the tag team division was particularly strong, but it still happened. They were a part of the Nexus originally and then they won them when they were in the group known as The Corre, which really wasn't a great idea by the creative team. The team ended because WWE wanted Gabriel to be booked as a babyface. How is that going? He's hardly on television and should be teaming with somebody these days whether it's Slater or his brief tag team partner Tyson Kidd. It's one of those things where WWE doesn't want to admit they made a mistake in breaking up a team, but that's what happened. They may have had an idea of pushing Gabriel as a face yet they never went through with it. Slater's in a joke group called 3MB these days, but he's not a bad heel at all. They had chemistry. It's a shame that it ended without a long term plan for either guy.
