WWE: 7 Recent Tag Team Breakups That Didn't Help Anyone

Breakups are never easy. That applies to life and to the wrestling business as well. When you think about all the tag teams over the years, how many of them have had breakups where both guys went on to become huge stars? If you're looking at some of the best teams ever, the one that jumps out as most successful on their own are Edge & Christian although Edge became the bigger star of the two. The Hardy Boys saw Jeff rise to the top while Matt was a midcarder. We know teams like the Rockers and Hart Foundation had one legendary wrestler on their teams while the other guy struggled. When the Dudleys broke up in WWE neither really broke out although Bubba Ray became a main eventer in TNA as Bully Ray. A lot of the time it's hard to know what will happen to the team after the split. Over the years, there have been many teams where both members of the team struggled after the breakup. Part of the reason for that is because they're simply not good enough on their own. A lot of the time, though, the reason is that the team didn't last long enough. That's the fault of the WWE creative team jumping the gun on ending these teams too quickly. Here's a look at five recent tag team breakups (think of ones from the last five years) that didn't help either member of the tag team.
