WWE: 7 Recent Tag Team Breakups That Didn't Help Anyone
5. Brodus Clay & Tensai (Tons Of Funk)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57y2eOSnTb4 If it was the late 1980s or early 1990s the teams of Tons of Funk would have been a heel team known as Tons of Destruction or something along those lines. Instead, they were a couple of dancing fools that didn't accomplish much together. Brodus Clay turned heel partly because he was upset that the debuting Xavier Woods was gaining popularity since he liked to dance with the Funkadactyls. Tensai didn't really get why Clay was mad, so he ended up getting attacked for it. Then Clay started doing these promos about how he would be a "main event playa" even though nobody believed that to be true. They should have used The Usos in Woods' place in that feud since Naomi is now married to Jimmy and then they could have got a tag team feud out of it with Tensai teaming up with Clay. Instead, it was a way to introduce Woods, who has gone on to become a midcard jobber. Part of the reason the team likely ended when they did is because Tensai was ready to retire and move on to his career as an announcer, which he's done under the name of Jason Albert. However, he likely could have been enticed to keep going if they got a run as tag team championships or at least as a couple guys that were booked in a more serious way.
