WWE: 7 Recent Tag Team Breakups That Didn't Help Anyone

1. The Miz & R-Truth (The Awesome Truth)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSRuw9q_frI Who were the two guys that teamed up to lose to the one night only dream team of John Cena and The Rock at Survivor Series 2011? The Miz and R-Truth. That's what they're remembered as these days: an answer to a trivia question. The Miz and R-Truth were not a long term alliance, but they should have been. That's why they're at the top of this list. They had so much potential for greatness as a long term that will sadly never get realized. In August of 2011, they teamed up due to having issues with the higher ups. They felt like there were conspiracies in the company and that people were out to get them. Since there weren't a lot of great heels at the time, they became the top heels in the company. They interfered in matches, got arrested and even got kicked out of the company for a short period. It was all done as a way to build them up as a credible team against Rock and Cena. Problem is, nobody bought them as threats in that match. One night after that Survivor Series main event loss, the team ended thanks to Miz dropping Truth with the Skull Crushing Finale on the ramp. Part of the reason they broke up when they did was because R-Truth failed a Wellness Test and was suspended for 30 days. They could have written Truth out another way. They should have kept them together because they really haven't done much since breaking apart. Truth went back to being a singing babyface that will never reach the heights he did in Awesome Truth while Miz has been struggling for over two years now. Their team worked well and had a very successful run together. It's a shame that The Awesome Truth didn't have a longer run.
