WWE: 7 Recent Tag Team Breakups That Didn't Help Anyone

2. Tyson Kidd & DH Smith (Hart Dynasty)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fULnVU9Rm0 This one bothers me more than most because as a Canadian guy, this was my favorite team in WWE in the late 2000s. These two guys are legitimate best friends that complimented each other so well with Kidd as the athletic guy and Smith as the power guy. They trained together, they grew up together, they became stars in WWE together and along with Kidd's wife Natalya (the cousin of Smith) they formed the Hart Dynasty. They became regulars on the main roster in 2009 and quickly impressed a lot of fans because they came off as a team. A lot of times you'll see people that teamed up that didn't really look like a team. These guys were great at it because it wasn't a stretch for them to work together. As mentioned, they grew up together so it was a natural thing. In April 2010 they won the tag titles from Big Show and Miz. This was back when there were two sets of tag titles, so they ended up as the last World Tag Team Champions. They lost the titles in September. A five month title reign was pretty good. Soon after that, they split up with Kidd going heel and there were matches on Superstars as well as Raw, but not on PPV. Cryme Tyme gets a PPV match and these two don't even though they're clearly better wrestlers? Weird. Smith ended up getting released in 2011 although he could return to WWE one day. Kidd gets more air time on Total Divas than he does on Raw or Smackdown these days. Kidd is too good to be sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. If they're not going to bring DH Smith back then put Kidd with Gabriel again. They had a run as a team and could be successful if management got behind them. Look back on things, the team should have stuck together for a couple more years and if they were still teaming today they would be the best tag team in the company. It just goes to show that WWE is usually too quick to break up a good thing.
