WWE: 7 Superstars Who Desperately Need New Direction (And How To Do It)

3. Brodus Clay

The Problem: Once his babyface run ended, he's become irrelevant. The Solution: Push him as a monster heel, give him a manager and see how far he can go with it. When you're as big as Brodus Clay is, you should probably be a heel. It's just the more natural role for a guy that's nearly 400 pounds and looks as intimidating as Clay. He tried the dancing fat guy thing. It got annoying pretty quick, but they did it for a couple of years and now he's lost in the midcard. How can they improve him? Give him a manager. Somebody like Zeb Colter would be great for him. Right now Zeb is doing the Real Americans thing, but if they go in a different direction with that then Clay would be a good fit. I don't think Paul Heyman would work that well as his manager. I also think part of the problem is that Clay isn't that good in the ring. It's hard to move around when you're his size. He certainly tries his best, but he doesn't have the most compelling matches. I can understand why WWE doesn't get behind him fully. However, I also think they could do a better job of utilizing his talents. There aren't too many 400 pounders around. When they're used right, they are an asset.
