WWE: 7 Things Top Stars Did After Losing Big Matches

2. Win A Tag Match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOzOeiYsZsI Tag matches are a way for WWE to protect somebody that lost a big match. They're also used as a tool to build somebody up prior to a big match. We often see people win in a tag match prior to a PPV match as a way to make them look strong going into a show. That can also be done after that big match too. Bray Wyatt lost to John Cena at WrestleMania 30. It angered a lot of fans online because the thinking was that Wyatt would benefit from a win more than Cena. The next night on Raw, Wyatt got a pin in a six man tag match. The reason they do that is because they don't want Wyatt to lose momentum because he's somebody that management has high hopes for. The pin wasn't on Cena, of course, since WWE always protects him with their booking. It was still a win for Wyatt to make him look like less of a loser. The same sort of theory can be used for a tag team if they happen to lose in a PPV setting. You might see them win a rematch non-title style or have the tag wrestlers face off in singles action. There are plenty of ways to do it.
