WWE: 7 Ways To Fix Raw Right Now

6. Change The Announce Team

There's something off about the announce team on Raw. They're not the worst group that there's been yet they're not even close to the greatness of Monsoon & Heenan or Ross & Lawler. Michael Cole is not going to go away even if we want him to. He's been in WWE for 17 years, worked his way up the ladder and as a guy that's in his 40s now he's going to be firmly entrenched in that seat for the next decade to come. John Bradshaw Layfield is very good at supporting the heels. There should be a heel announcer. A lot of the time his problem is he raises his voice too much and is often berating on Cole so much that it takes away from the action. You're an announcer now. Be a part of the show, but don't be the focus of it. With all due respect to Jerry Lawler, he doesn't offer anything new or fresh anymore. He's a guy in his mid 60s that has sat in that same chair for the majority of the last 20 years. Vince McMahon probably trusts him as much as any of his employees, so that likely makes it hard for him to take him out of that chair. He should probably retire this year, though. It's about time. Part of the problem is the way they are produced. Cole would rather talk about a "Twitter war" between Fandango and Summer Rae instead of calling actual moves. Like Jim Ross has said many times over the years, they're there to tell stories before they call the action. A three man announce team is fine, but replacing Lawler is something that should be considered to freshen things up a bit.
