WWE: 8 Most Glaring Omissions From The Undertaker's Streak

1. The Undertaker vs. John Cena - WrestleMania XXX

Undertaker Vs Cena If you were to pick some candidates for WWE's "Mount Rushmore" you could make strong cases for Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock and John Cena. Undertaker has defeated none of them at WrestleMania. Sure, Sammartino would have been an awkward choice, as battling a 70 year old man would have seemed like abuse, but with the other men on the list, there were multiple opportunities for a match. While a Mania match with Hogan, Austin and The Rock will never happen now, a potential showdown with Cena is still possible. So why didn't WWE book it this year? There's no getting around it, Taker is getting older (as we all are, obviously), but he's finally starting to look his age. When WrestleMania XXX comes around, he'll be 49 years old. Once (and if) he makes his way to Cena, he'll be in his 50s. What better time would there have been for this epic showdown than at Mania XXX? Right now, it's perhaps the biggest dream match left in wrestling, and it would have made perfect sense to have them battle at the biggest pay-per-view of all time. Instead, we're getting Cena vs. Bray Wyatt which seems a couple years away from being a marquee match, and Taker vs. Lesnar which feels a couple years too late. Add to that, no one believes Lesnar will defeat Undertaker. But Cena? That seems like the one guy who fans could actually believe may end his historic run. As we saw last year, Taker can absolutely still go in the ring. But how will he fare next year (or a few years from now) in a match with Cena? It's tough to say, but due to the laws of nature, it most likely won't be as good as it would have been this year. Sure, the two have faced off in the past, but not since Cena became the company's biggest star. The dynamic between the two, and the crowd reaction would be incredible. Right now, Mania XXX is missing a huge, novel marquee match. Undertaker vs. Cena would have filled that role, but now we're left wondering , and hoping, that we'll someday see it again.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
