WWE: 8 Improvements To Make Wrestling Great Again

3. Hardcore Championship

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76UHgmPLRxs WWE has always had lower card roster members who, the majority of the time, weren€™t involved in storylines of any interest. WWE would simply plonk them in the mix to feud over the hardcore title and entertaining TV was instantly made. Of course in today€™s PG era I doubt a title named €œHardcore€ would really fit in but why not the €œExtreme€ championship or something. A title that allows weapons, gimmick matches and all sorts of crazy hijinks would appear, at face value, as a parental groups worst nightmare but I would argue that WWE have proven they can use weapons in a responsible manner nowadays and have stopped any and all blood from flowing. In fact I would even go on to say that weapon usage is much more thought out and a lot of innovation revolves around the more hardcore elements of WWE TV. Wrestlers don€™t need to be smacked upside the head with baking trays and 2x4€™s anymore and believe the title would work wonderfully well just as it did a decade ago. Much like the Lightweights, this division created fan favourites in guys like Steve Blackman, Al Snow, Crash Holly, Spike Dudley and was revolutionised by the likes of RVD, Taz, Raven, Jeff Hardy and Tommy Dreamer. It also gave a different element to TV with the 24/7 rule where the camera would be roadying around the corridors randomly picking up action taking place anywhere. Creating some of the funnier and lighter hearted moments in WWE TV history! I€™m not saying bring it back as it was because it simply wouldn€™t work the same, but a title that allowed different matches than those being shown at present involving some of the jobbers simply can€™t do any harm and would most likely do some good.
