WWE: 8 Ways Elimination Chamber Devalued Wrestlemania 30

4. Batista Exposed Again By Creative

Dave Batista has done nothing wrong in his WWE return, the problem has been down to WWE creative. In most cases the horrible reception Batista has endured has been down to a 'shooting of the messenger.' You can't blame Batista for negotiating a big push into his contract return, it's the sensible thing for a man in his position to do. WWE are the ones in the wrong, the ones who hot shot him into an unnatural spot. The result was that Batista received a poisoned chalice, he was put into the Royal Rumble winner spot (perceived to be Daniel Bryan's spot) and as such got a ton of genuine heat from the fans. Anyone not named Daniel Bryan who got pushed as the Wrestlemania 30 main event challenger was always going to get vocally destroyed. That's the fate Batista has suffered. WWE creative should have cottoned on to this and corrected the error at Elimination Chamber, they should have nipped the Batista heat in the bud. The way I would have done that is NOT to feature Batista in a match at Elimination Chamber where he was inevitably going to be exposed to boos, but instead I would have had Batista interfere in the Chamber to help Bryan win (thus getting a face reaction). Batista and Bryan could have then faced off at Mania with Orton's rematch clause making it a triple threat. Instead WWE did the opposite. They booked Batista in a ten minute match that hanged him out to dry. The boos and chants were devastating, there's no way now that Batista's face credentials will get over now. The company as a result is left with a huge dilemma for booking Orton vs Batista as the main event of Wrestlemania 30.
