WWE: 8 Most Wildly Dangerous Stunts You Won't Believe Wrestlers Performed

6. Public Enemy vs. Stevie Richards, ECW Hardcore TV - Richards Gets Put Through A Flaming Table

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdZuEV0RR5Q The Dudleys may have made table spots famous in ECW and WWE but the Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge) were the first to use them extensively. As the first real "hometown" creation of genius booker Paul Heyman, the Public Enemy were portrayed as two white guys from the ghetto who loved to fight. They eventually caught on with fans due to their unique interview style and penchant for violence that made Extreme Championship Wrestling famous. When tables weren't enough, the Public Enemy took it one step further and started lighting tables on fire. Any time fire is involved in wrestling, the potential for disaster is always there. Terry Funk, wrestling legend, was once lit on fire at the ECW Arena when a flaming towel flew off a chair that Mick Foley was using and landed on Funk's back. Terry desperately ran out of the ring with Foley breaking character and attempting to put his friend out. Fire is completely uncontrollable and wrestler promoters rarely are prepared for such a disaster. Stevie Richards was certainly not the last to be put through a flaming table. Notably, Balls Mahoney was slammed through them by the Dudley Boys on multiple occasions. While the Dudleys took the tables gimmick with them to WWE, thankfully they retired the flaming tables until the ECW reunion show in 2005.
