Searching for his "WrestleMania moment", Foley challenged Edge to a hardcore match at the 22nd edition of the biggest show of the year. Mick used it as a vehicle to get Edge over and the Rated R Superstar owes his main event push as much to Mick Foley as he does to anyone else. The match featured both men taking a tremendous amount of punishment and brutalizing each other with barbed wire. Edge even took a barebacked bump onto hundreds of thumbtacks, turning himself into a human pin cushion and making the audience cringe. After the thumbtacks, Foley wrapped Mr. Socko in barbed wire and shoved it into Edge's mouth, then he delivered the same thing to Lita. To close the violent and brutal match, Foley attempted to light a table on fire at ringside. However, Lita hit Mick in the crotch with a barbed wire baseball bat and lit the table on fire herself. As Mick stood stunned on the apron, Edge charged towards Foley and speared him through the table, sending both men into the flames and earning Edge the respect he so desperately deserved.
