Both Lashley and Umaga were pushed as world-beating tough guys, and when push came to shove, Lashley came out on top €“ and as a result, Vince McMahon€™s head was shaved in the middle of the ring. Early plans for the match were heading in a different direction, though €“ according to the Observer, rather than the slugfest that was Lashley versus Umaga, WWE was planning a more technical encounter, with (then-King) Booker T representing McMahon and Shawn Michaels representing Trump. In the end, the McMahon-Trump animosity likely had more to do with the success of the event than their choice of grapplers, but perhaps larger-than-life personalities like HBK and King Booker could have changed that.
