WWE: 9 Awesome Tag Teams That Never Won The Belts

4. The Beverly Brothers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-RIqtmRJhY Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom first joined together as the Destruction Crew in the AWA and, in the process, became the first and only tag team to ever win the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Rookie of the Year award. Unfortunately, this came just as the AWA was going out of business, so the Destruction Crew was left looking for work in the early 1990s. After a brief stint in WCW, the Crew jumped to the World Wrestling Federation and were renamed Beau and Blake Beverly. Their gimmick was that they were spoiled, rich brothers who always had everything handed to them. After taking on the Genius (Lanny Poffo) as their manager, the Beverlys engaged in a feud with the Legion of Doom and then the Natural Disasters. While they didn't have a long run in the WWF, they were over enough as a heel team that they could definitely have made some waves as a title-level tag team. Enos and Bloom had been teaming long enough to have great chemistry and a couple good looking double-team moves to keep the crowd going. A transition of the titles from the Natural Disasters to the Legion of Doom wouldn't have hurt the titles at all and probably would have gotten the Beverly Brothers a good deal of heat. Unfortunately, Bloom retired from wrestling 1993, leaving Mike Enos to wrestle as a solo Blake Beverly and put over new talent. He would eventually become a trivia answer though, as Enos was wrestling a match against Steve Doll when Scott Hall first appeared in WCW and made his famous "you want a war?" speech.
