5. The Bushwhackers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h5H7ngZfTA If your only exposure to the Bushwhackers was their run in the WWF, then you really missed out because their prime came when they were known as the Sheephearders. Working various promotions around the Memphis area, Luke Williams and Butch Miller had some bloody and violent brawls all over the south. Their feud with the Fabulous Ones is legendary and they were guys who weren't afraid to get a little bloody. When they came to the World Wrestling Federation, they switched their violent style over to a comedic one in order to fit in with the WWF's more family-friendly atmosphere. They enjoyed a feud with the Bolsheviks which culminated in their first Wrestlemania match and victory. After their Wrestlemania victory, they settled into the midcard as a comedic tag team, entertaining kids and wrestling in opening matches to get the crowd going. The Bushwhackers were certainly well beyond their prime as a tag team once they got to the WWF and they weren't great workers then, not by a long shot. But, is it really so ridiculous to see them serving as transitional champions for a new heel team? I don't think so.
