WWE: Analysis Of Every Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania X - March 20, 1994

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n56tSm9xefo Venue: Madison Square Garden, New York City Attendance: 18,065 By its 10th anniversary Wrestlemania had changed into a whole new beast with many of the original stars of the previous 9 no longer on the roster (including Hogan). With less people in attendance than the original show this year's 'Mania was more about the wrestling than the celebrities and mercifully did not include any non wrestler's in wrestling roles. Much of the event's praise was aimed at the opening contest which is still one of the best matches in the history of the event - Bret Hart losing to his little brother Own in a stunning 20 minute encounter. This was far better than the actual main event - Hart beating Yokozuna - as well as the rest of the card. Other matches which all went on after the battle of Bret and Owen included Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon Vs Doink and Dink, Randy Savage Vs Crush and Men On A Mission Vs The Quebecers. The only other match worth mentioning was the stellar Ladder match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon. This was the first time Michaels stole the show and began a long succession of matches that helped shape him as Mr Wrestlemania. Compared to today's Ladder matches it's quite tame and simplistic but back in 1994 Michaels/Ramon was ground breaking and pretty damn hardcore. The Undertaker did not appear at this event.
